VEI IV · Sleep Support

When your sleep is off,
we start with how you feel

The Sleep Support IV is not an IV that puts you to sleep. It is a supportive drip that replenishes fluids and nutrients when stress or a mild illness leaves you drained and dehydrated and rest does not come easily. An internal medicine specialist checks your condition first and then decides what goes in it.

VEI Clinic, Gangnam — VEI IV · Sleep Support

Who It May Suit

  • People who struggle to settle at night because of stress
  • People whose routine has shifted, such as shift workers
  • People sleeping poorly due to dehydration and fatigue after a mild illness
  • People who want condition care alongside changes in daily habits

What's in the IV

The contents are set after your consultation to match your condition. It contains no sedatives and is not designed to make you sleep.

  • A base IV fluid for hydration
  • Electrolytes when needed
  • Nutrients such as B vitamins or magnesium when judged suitable

How a Visit Works

  • History: sleep pattern, recent symptoms, medications and allergies
  • Exam: vital signs, with simple tests if needed
  • Explanation and consent: suitability and IV contents
  • IV: about 30 to 60 minutes in a private room
  • Before you leave: advice on daily habits, with prescriptions or referrals if needed

Precautions and Safety

The IV is a supportive measure and does not solve sleep problems on its own. Sleep depends heavily on a regular wake time, morning light, caffeine and alcohol habits, and stress management. If insomnia persists, we discuss evaluating the cause and approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Please tell us in advance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have kidney, heart or liver disease or G6PD deficiency, or take diuretics or blood thinners. You may notice a bruise at the injection site, a brief chill or flush, or a metallic taste.

When You Need Emergency Care

Chest pain, severe shortness of breath, confusion, fainting, new neurological symptoms or a persistent high fever call for emergency care rather than an IV visit. If you feel severely depressed or have thoughts of harming yourself, please seek help right away.

How VEI Clinic Works

An internal medicine specialist sees you in person and then decides whether an IV is appropriate and what it should contain. You receive your IV comfortably in a private room. Results can differ from person to person, and the specialist decides on suitability after your consultation.
