VEI Body · Medical Diet

Not a trending diet, but
weight care that starts with tests

Medical weight management at VEI Clinic begins with an internal medicine specialist reviewing your history and test results, then building a plan with you that covers food, exercise and sleep. The aim is habits you can keep over time rather than rapid, strained weight loss.

VEI Clinic, Gangnam — VEI Body · Medical Diet

Who This Is For

  • People whose weight has not come down despite lifestyle changes
  • People concerned about metabolic health such as blood sugar, blood pressure or lipids
  • People who gained weight after starting a medication or after hormonal changes
  • People who want regular check-ins rather than dieting alone
  • People who want a realistic plan that fits a busy routine

Consultation and Tests

At the first visit we look at how your weight changed and at your current health. The specialist selects only the tests that fit your history and symptoms.

  • Review of medical history, current medications, sleep, stress and eating patterns
  • Body measurements including weight, waist circumference and blood pressure
  • HbA1c and fasting lipid tests
  • Basic blood tests including liver and kidney function
  • Thyroid function tests
  • Additional tests such as iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin D when needed

Food, Exercise and Sleep Plan

Your plan is based on the Korean meals you usually eat and your daily rhythm. It does not depend on buying any particular product and focuses on methods you can keep up in everyday life.

  • Meals that start with vegetables and balance protein and carbohydrates
  • Caution with sodium and hidden calories in soups, stews, ramen and sauces
  • Easy-to-find protein foods such as tofu, eggs, fish and legumes
  • Strength training, aerobic exercise and a daily step goal
  • A review of sleep, caffeine and drinking habits

Visit Flow and Regular Follow-Up

Weight moves up and down from day to day, so we look at the trend over several weeks rather than a single number. When needed, medication may be considered at the specialist's discretion.

  • First visit: history, body measurements and test guidance
  • Results visit: explanation of results and a written food, exercise and sleep plan
  • Regular visits: checking meals, weight changes and any discomfort, and adjusting the plan
  • Maintenance: longer gaps between visits and a plan for when weight starts to return

Precautions and Safety

We do not use unverified stimulants or so-called fat-burning products. When the plan changes we recheck liver and kidney function as needed, and please tell us in advance if you may be pregnant.

The pace and extent of change can vary from person to person, and the specialist decides on the appropriate approach after your consultation.

  • Seek care promptly for severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, or black or bloody stool
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath or confusion need emergency care right away

How VEI Clinic Works

An internal medicine specialist sees you in person, explains your results and sets the plan together with you. Bringing the following helps make the consultation more specific.

  • A list of your current medications and supplements
  • Previous health checkup or blood test results
  • A two- to three-day food record and your usual activity level
  • A record of your weight changes, if you have one

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens at the first visit?

We go over your history and habits and measure your weight, waist and blood pressure. We then guide you through the needed blood tests and meet again with the results to build the plan together.

Do I have to take medication?

Not everyone needs medication. The food, exercise and sleep plan is the foundation, and the specialist decides whether further treatment is needed based on your results and history.

How long until I notice changes?

The pace of change differs for each person. Rather than daily weight, we follow the trend of weight, waist, blood pressure and blood test results over several weeks.

Do I need to buy meal plans or shakes?

You do not need to buy any set product. We give sample menus based on how you already eat, and if you would like meal replacements we discuss how to fit them safely into your plan.
